Birthday Weekend

Friday was Justin's actual birthday and we had a party for him on that day. He had his first real birthday party, with just boys. Usually we kind of throw something together and invite some neighbors or just do something with our family. This is the first all boy party we have had. It went off well. We discovered that boys are much easier to get together than girls. They just played in the back with the toys till there was activies, pizza, cake or presents.

In contrast, Ashton went to a sleepover on Friday night for her friend Hannah's 6 year old birthday. I have heard that there was arguing and every girl there cried at least once. Although, they will all say they had a good time.

On Saturday night we had a birthday party for Chad and our friend Kirk. Chad is going to be 35 on Monday and Kirk will be 40 next week. This was a good excuse to eat mexican food and have a party without kids. We have become greatly inculturated, for most of the night the men sat in the living room and the women were elsewhere.

On a sad note, we also had a going away party for our friends the Lubinus' Family. They will be greatly missed around here. Part of me feels like life in Turkey can't exist without them, although that is not true, they were such a huge part of why we are here and how life has progressed these last few years. Praise God, He will sustain us all.
